Interest Rates Up 0.25% from 2.35% to 2.60%
The Reserve Bank of Australia’s October meeting has increased interest rates by 0.25% to 2.60%. Inflation is still running high but economists believe we will near the end of the hiking cycle by Christmas where interest rates are likely to increase between 0.25% to 0.75%.
All the major banks and many other lenders were quick to announce and pass on the interest rate increase. Along with the variable interest rate rise many lenders are increasing fixed rates at a surprising rapid rate. We have seen an increase of at least a three percent interest rate rise amongst most fixed rates since the beginning of the year.
